WOW! You’ve got me stumped! But, wherever it is, the town looks lovely. By the rock formation, I’m guessing somewhere in New Mexico or Arizona. Am I close?
You sly thing! I am terrible with stuff like this, so I won’t even guess. Having driven across the country a couple of times side to side, and up and down, I recognize the feel of the area.
Wish I could guess, but no. Did you take this photo on your trip?
OK…if Eileen is close, I’m assuming it is either in Oklahoma or Arkansas. The convention was in Utah, right? And I thought I recalled you saying something about going to Oklahoma. Is that right?
Eileen is still the closest, not Oklahoma, not Taos which is pretty close, near the NM AZ line. The rock formation is a dead giveaway for those who have seen it.
OK, I just asked my husband to take a look at the picture. He’s well traveled–spent a lot of time in the Southwest for the Military. He says it looks like Shiprock, NM—he’s trying to explain some of the history but I dont care about that. I just want to know if he’s right!
Shiprock it is! and Beverly didn’t peek at Cathy’s answer, her husband is also correct. The town is named after the rock, it is near the NM AZ UT and CO borders. Now to see if the winner would like a prize.
oh, I was going to say Piccacho Peak near Phoenix, lol. But then I saw the answer was Shiprock, lol. That highway sign that said 64 threw me off because we have a 64 here in AZ too, lol.
Ahh Shiprock! (Or Bird with Wings)
One of my favorite rock formations! You have GOT to hear the story around it sometime. It’s cool. I spent a summer in Farmington, NM, just 20 minutes away from there.

Nope, not Salt Lake City, although I was there, so far Eileen is the closest and she is very close.
