How Would a Blog Help My Business?

What are these blogs everyon is talking about?

Now why would I want an online journal? Personal stuff all over the internet, I don’t think so! I don’t even want my picture up.

Blogs are just another online fad. A complete waste of time!

Many of these same questions I asked myself just a couple of years ago. I just didn't get it. Now I used the internet all the time, knew it was a great tool. My college kids buy and sell their books through the internet. Need a hotel, plane ticket, map? Just go online. My younger kids working now research for homework online. Son getting married, what services are available locally? We searched 0nline before cracking the yellow pages. Guess which services were used? the ones we found online, and referrals.

So I went online, searched and learned much, still learning. And in the end, I was surprised to find that blogs where what I was looking for all along. Some very good reasons to have a blog:

  • Search engines love blogs, Having a blog helps your search engine ratings.
  • A blog is a quick, easy communication tool, a way to stay in touch with your clients, employees, network, anyone you want to stay in touch with.
  • Through a blog, you can let your personality shine through, building that relationship, to be more than a nameless entity.
  • You can have a conversation through your blog by allowing your readers to comment, give you feedback.
